There are many software for downloading flv movies in the web, such as Youtube or google video etc. I have used many of them, the last one is Ashampoo Clipfinder that is a free one. But, later, many software don’t function well. Seems, the difficulty is about the url. Ashampoo Clipfinder would say “no movie is found”. Also my favourite “Internet Video Converter” could not download simply because it doesn’t find any movie in the url. I tried AShampoo Clipfisher (the paid version), with no luck result, also with the same error.
Finally I found an amazing software, it is PQ FLV downloader. The pro version includes converter, but I can just use the trial version to download. To convert the format, I entrust it to Internet Video Converter.
You can download the PQ FLV here. After installed and run the program, you will see the green icon in your dekstop tray. Just open your browser and find the video you’d like to download. PQFLV will automatically pop up, complete with the url. With only one click, the process of downloading will go on. You can set the folder of output. I use proxy server for my internet connection, but I don’t need to set the proxy in PQFLV setting dialog box.
All the downloaded files of course are in .flv format. With Internet Video Converter, we can easily convert it to another format with good enough quality. For some websites, you can also download flv video by this software, as far as you can put the right url that “content” the video. But anyhow, I prefer using PQ FLV.

I don’t know how it was happening, one computer of my clients could not boot and give message error that this file might be corrupted – can be repaired by using set up CD and choose “r”.
Unfortunately, it was mistakenly done. Instead of choosing “r”, I setup a new windows xp in the same partition. I didn’t like a new windows xp since I would have to install everything new.
First, I returned to the first problem. I reboot. Since there were two windows, came choice of operating system. I chose the second one (it is the first/ originally installed, the one with problem) and push F8 before entering Windows. Then choose “use last best configuration”. –> Windows start up well, everything ok.
Now, my second task is taking out the second installed windows. I use administrator log in with the repaired original windows boot. Go to “My Computer” –> C: ; I could see that the first/original windows is in folder named “WINDOWS”, while the second one is in “WINDOWS.0″
Make visible the hidden files, system files and the file extensions. Look for “boot.ini”, open with notepad and delete the second choice of windows, also correct the default –> put back to the first/original windows. Then delete folder and all files inside “WINDOWS.0″.
I had difficulty with file “flash6.ocx”. I could not delete it, “access denied”, even I used already “administrator” log in. After googling somewhere, I found this trick, reset the authority from the folder. Right click folder “WINDOWS.0″ choose properties –> tab “security” -> button “advance” –> select user “ADMINISTRATOR” –> make sure it has “full control” –> check the checkbox of “replace permission entries …….” then APPLY — OK.
After this small trick, I could delete this file. Everything goes well.

I have used spyware doctor starter edition in my computers since some days ago, and I am satisfied enough with its capability to catch spyware. Since the starter edition has only about 30% signatures than the paid one, I was thinking of buying it. And yesterday I was so glad when I had a one year promotion for spyware doctor 6 – the new one.
First, I uninstalled the starter edition and installed the new one in my computer that had already AVG 7.5 (paid edition). Everything seems okay. So, I continued to install that spyware doctor 6 in other computer that had “Rising free Anti Virus”. The installation went through after an alert from the antivirus came out and I had to click “accept” to let the process go. After installation, the network connection was stacked. No way, I had to uninstall the Spyware Doctor. After uninstalling, everything okay.
In the first computer (with AVG 7.5 and Spyware doctor 6 together), I could work all the day well and in the evening I could shut down without any problem. But the next day, this morning, when I started up my computer, it hanged in “applying computer setting”. Tried to reset without luck. Then I unplugged the network cable and restarted. I went well. I guessed the Spyware Doctor 6 was the culprit. So, I uninstalled it. It was not too easy. My “cleanse uninstaller” could not do it. It is quite difficult to “stop process”, so that I had to do it manually. Then I uninstall using the facility of the program itself.
I plugged again the network cable, and the network connected well immediately. I shut down and restarted the computer, and it had no more problem with start up.
My conclusion, the Spyware Doctor 6 is not so friendly with other anti virus. It is different with the younger brother Spyware Doctor 5 starter edition. I am a little bit disappointed, since I hope it could help me fighting the spyware. Will try to contact their technical support.
